I am
ooking for a really good knife that’s not too expensive that I can use for just about anything. Also a great belt or any way to hold both a flashlight and knife fairly comfortable.
There are so many web sites out there it makes my head spin trying to find all three. So maybe there is a store I could go to that is somewhat close. I live in Sioux City Iowa. Thanks for any help you can give me.
Here is my response:
Hi Les,
Thanks for the question. I’ve got a few ideas that might fit what you’re looking for.
The Buck 750 Redpoint Knife is an all-around great knife at a reasonable price. It has a sharp, 2 ¾ inch half-serrated blade, opens easily, locks open or closed, the handle has a rubber coating for a solid grip in any weather.
Buck offers a lifetime warranty; if it ever breaks, send it in and they’ll replace it.
It also comes in several different colors to suit your taste. The placement of the locking switch makes it only suitable for right-handed people, though.
If you’d like a knife with a few extra useful tools, consider the Gerber Crucial. It has a full size, half-serrated blade that opens one-handed and locks in place, as well as pliers, wire cutter, Phillips and flat head drivers, and a bottle opener.
Here’s an interesting tool that combines a knife and flashlight (as well as an emergency whistle): the Tool Logic SL1 Multifunction Knife. It has a good sized half-serrated blade, and the LED flashlight has a magnetic base for attaching to metal surfaces.
As far as flashlights go, I think the Gerber Infinity LED Flashlight is a good value. It has a waterproof casing, shockproof circuitry, a bright beam, and is very light.
Grab a UTG Heavy Duty Web Belt, and I think you’ve got everything you need.
I hope this information is helpful. Best of luck to you!
Sincerely,
Nathanael
